About Us
Free Investments is a team within the University of Nottingham Economics and Finance Society student-run Equity fund. We manage an unconstrained portfolio of our own capital as a team. Our aim is to beat the FTSE All-Share which serves as the benchmark index we have chosen.
Our Approach
Our strategy is based upon a mixture between bottom-up and top-down approaches. We focus on the qualities within a company that distinguishes it from the rest of the industry and by doing this; we are able to choose companies with potential. However, at the same time, we do not forget about the macro view and how that impacts on our portfolio returns.
Our Portfolio
The team has expanded the portfolio to include various sectors of the UK economy, by managing an unconstrained portfolio; we are able to take advantage of diversification. Moreover, our capital allocation is a combination between stable medium-term investments and short-term opportunities which we do our best to capitalise on.
